Turnkey Participates in 2011 Health Day

Last month, Turnkey Vice President David Lewgood (pictured below) and Office Manager Nichole Greene contributed helping hands to Atlanta’s celebration of 2011 World Health Day. The event took place at 381 Centennial Olympic Park Drive in Atlanta.

“The event was focused around assisting with the needs of homeless and financially challenged families in our community,” said Lewgood. “We realize how fortunate we are and wanted to extend a helping hand to our neighbors,” he added. “This is an event that is very near and dear to our hearts.” Lewgood and Greene assisted with the set up and break down of the event.

World Health Day is an event sponsored by the World Health Organization. This year’s campaign, “1000 Cities, 1000 Lives” has been held in 1,500 cities throughout the world over the course of this year. The global goals of the campaign this year are:

1000 cities: to open up public spaces to health, whether it be activities in parks, town hall meetings, clean-up campaigns, or closing off portions of streets to motorized vehicles.

1000 lives: to collect 1000 stories of urban health champions who have taken action and had a significant impact on health in their cities.
